Alex Blaszczynski is an Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney, where he co-directed the Gambling Research Unit and ran the Gambling Treatment Centre for over three decades. He is the co-developer of the Pathways Model of problem gambling, one of the most widely cited frameworks in gambling research, with more than 29,000 academic citations to his name. His work covers gambling behaviour, harm minimisation, responsible gambling policy, and the psychological impact of online casino design on Australian players. Alex holds a BA, MA, Dip.Psych, and PhD, and has received the American National Council on Problem Gambling Lifetime Research Award and the NSW Government Responsible Gambling Fund Excellence Award. He now consults independently and writes evidence-grounded reviews to help Australian players make informed decisions.
